Machinist

Mailing Parts Online is looking for a machinist to join our team in Niantic, CT. This hands-on role involves operating manual shop equipment and machining, modifying and inspecting parts to meet specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other shop equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings and part specifications.
- Machine and modify parts to the required dimensions and tolerances.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Assist with other shop tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience operating manual lathes and mills is preferred.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and work to specified tolerances.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team.
Experience & Training
We welcome both experienced machinists and candidates with basic machining knowledge who are eager to develop their skills. Relevant trade school coursework, technical training or hands-on shop experience is a plus. On-the-job training will be provided based on the candidate’s experience and learning needs.
Candidates should have basic mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, a commitment to safe work practices and a willingness to learn.
Location: Niantic, CT. This position requires on-site work.
Schedule: Full-time.
